Fashion not by Birth, Style by Birth

Most people think Fashion and Style as same content but they aren’t. The both terms are always used but mostly used in a wrong context example; you have a great fashion sense meanwhile it is style at work. I can be a fashionista and might not be a guru when it comes to style. Fashion is brands and trends, style is creativity, adding up two unlike colours, outfits etc to bring out what you feel inside. Fashion is owned by everyone, style is owned by you. If you are feeling moody its shows in the style you put up that day and not the fashion brands or clothing lines.
Growing up with fashion is so not favourable to all because most parents couldn’t afford fashion, let’s say they were expensive, limited, and goes off the trend list in a hurry, remember sometime 13years back in west Africa (Nigeria to be precise)a children fashion trend came on board which is a dress that comes with a hat and a hand bag, it was mostly worn for birthdays and festive seasons now its off the trend list. It is called Fashion in that context because there was no creativity, no emotion or feelings expressed instead it was a rule; you must wear the hat with the dress for a complete match.
Today and then style has being there, most parents didn’t have such luxury for that matching outfit so they get the cloths they can afford and match it up together “now that is style” we wore them and felt comfortable ;some jeans, gowns, shirts, belts, shoes and stock they (parents) sum it all up and it gave the perfect match. As a teen too, style was put to work funny it wasn’t kwon as style but as fashion. The similarity of the both is that they are both affected by time. 90s fashion creates a picture of a group of people in an afro a skinny shirt and trousers and some funny looking shoe; style from the 90s will be combining outfits or colours that are available at that era to give a suiting look same as now.

Style is an art, fashion is a code…
